♥♥♥♥♥

I absolutely loved The Deal when I first read it. I liked the main characters but not only. The whole hockey team, the great group dynamic. Elle Kennedy has created such endearing characters, it’s so hard to let go of the books. So I dived into the The Mistake and it was good as well. But from the very first book of the series I was waiting for this. Waiting for Dean’s story and… Elle Kennedy didn’t disappoint.

♥ Thank you

I remember pre-ordering this book in October-November after reading The Deal and The Mistake. I couldn’t wait for it, because since the very first book I absolutely loved Dean and desperately wanted to read his story. Generally, when I’m this excited , I fear I might be disappointed as my expectations are really high. In December, I had the great surprise of receiving an ARC for this book (and I thank Elle Kennedy and her publisher for it again). So I dived into it right away and I couldn’t put it down until I had finished. This book was everything I expected and so much more.

♥ General impression

The reason why I liked this book so much is because it made me feel so many things ! At the start I was completely ecstatic, I mean there was so much of Dean in all his glory. But what surprised me was Allie. I didn’t thought I would like her, she seemed a bit boring and I was afraid the character would be a bit confusing and annoying regarding the kind of relationship she had with her boyfriend. BUT NO ! She was amazing ! From start to finish.

♥ The author

Seriously, after 3 books from this author I can honestly say that Elle Kennedy has become one of my favourite author and is on my auto-buy list. She has that special touch when it comes to making characters and stories special, it’s amazing. Not to mention her superb writing style. It has come to the point where when I read one of her books I know for sure I won’t get bored.

♥ Review ♥

What makes The Score the best book of the series so far, for me (and it’s a huge thing, regarding how much I loved the previous ones) is that it had even more depth to it.

There was more to the characters, more to the story. I passed through so many stages reading this book : I laughed out loud so many times (the tomato soup incident, Winston, etc.). I had a really great time. It also made me cry. I would never have guessed… believe me. Not with this kind of books, and yet… It was surprising and refreshing.

I won’t say it enough, Dean DiLaurentis is perfect. So perfect. He could have been cliché but he wasn’t, that’s what made him so special.

♥ Conclusion ♥

I could rant all day about this book, the emotions in it, everything it made me feel, the perfect way it was written, the perfect dose of everything it had in it and how special it is to me now.

And now that I’m writing this review, and thinking about everything again, I’m just going to change my rating and give it a 5 star instead of the previous 4 I had given it.

And now I’m off to read it again…

Plus de détails (Goodreads) :

He knows how to score, on and off the ice

Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she’s going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.

It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over

Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.

Spread the love 🙂
