I remember reading The Mistake when it came out in 2015. I loved the first book with Garrett and Hannah and I enjoyed Elle Kennedy’s writing so I was really looking forward to reading this one.
♥ The story ♥
The Mistake by Elle Kennedy is book 2 of the Off-Campus series. We meet all of The Deal‘s characters again. But this time the main character is Logan, Garrett’s best friend and teammate. John Logan is hiding something from Garrett for some time now and this secret eats him up a little more every day. One night, he meets Grace, a reserved and innocent university student. Meeting her will leave him perplexed and frustrated. Wanting answers, he’ll have to get close to her. But when she finds out about his secret she feels betrayed and if he wants her back, he’s going to have to work for it.
♥ My review ♥
It’s been two years now that I’ve read this book and if you’ve read my previous posts you know that I’m rewriting my reviews following a technical problem on my blog. That being said, what I remember about The Mistake is how much I loved the scene where they meet. It was just epic for me. Intriguing and sweet at first, then really sexy. What happens to Logan next is just too funny. Seeing him frustrated and tormented, I just loved it.
What I like about the Off-Campus series is that we found ourselves inside a guy’s mind in every book and I find this so interesting, especially being inside those guys’ minds. Reading The Mistake, we get to enjoy the great atmosphere of this Hockey team again. Their friendship, the way they care about each other and their particular way of showing it. Everything is so well described that we feel like we’re living everything with them and we get really attached to the characters.
I found Grace was endearing. Someone quite reserved with a very sexy side and that works hard to overcome her weaknesses. The way she has no-filter when she is nervous was so adorable. Logan was touching in how he took everything upon himself and even if he suffered he managed to be there for his friends and family.
To conclude, we enjoy Elle Kennedy’s wonderful writing again and this depth that she manages to bring to a light read, which is amazing. A very sweet romance with endearing characters. I recommend this book as well as the rest of the series!

More details (Goodreads) :
He’s a player in more ways than one…
College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he’ll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he’s worth a second chance.
Now he’s going to need to up his game…
After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She’s not a charity case, and she’s not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He’ll have to work for it. This time around, she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat…and she plans on driving him wild.
