When Reiner Kulti, international soccer star, is appointed as coach to Sal‘s team, she discovers he’s nothing like she thought he was. He’s rude and seems not to care about anyone but himself. Books I recommend but never reviewed – #2 : Steamy Coffee Collection series – Whitney G.

Books I recommend but never reviewed - laylareads

Hello dear and amazing readers ! 🙂

So, a week has already passed and it’s time for another post in the Books I recommend but never reviewed series.

Today, I’ll talk about a series of novella by an author I like a lot : Whitney G., but I don’t know why I never review her books. I’m too overwhelmed right after, I think. The only one I reviewed is Sincerely, Carter, which as you can see, I loved! This author is definitely on my auto-buy list.

The weird thing is I’m not generally a big fan of novellas. I prefer long and detailed books where I can enjoy the characters and story for longer. But when I saw she was writing this, I had to try because I’m a fan of her writing. And let me tell you, those 3 books are hot, sweet and dirty and perfect if you need a light and enjoyable read before going back to a heavy one. Also, if you like office-romances. Well, they all are!

Book #1

Naughty Boss – Whitney G.

Like for all those novellas, I wish they were made into super long books. That’s how much I loved them. Naughty Boss tells the story of  Mya, a pretty, efficient and hard-working assistant who works for an a**hole boss, Michael, that asks outrageous things from her. She tries to bear it and when she needs to vent she sends awful emails about him to her best friend. The problem is that she accidentally ends up sending him one. And let’s just say that if her life was hell before, it was worse after he read it. Michael is your typical alpha male : handsome and arrogant. Those two characters were great and I loved that Mya gave as good as she got in attitude. I highly recommend this read and I’m leaving you with the blurb that you absolutely need to read (yes, I’m afraid you won’t click on the link and miss that!) : Read More

I started Exploited by A. Meredith Walters a month ago. But I had a really hard time getting into the story so I put it down then picked it back up only a few days ago. And when I reached chapter 6, I just couldn’t stop.

♥ The story

Exploited tells the story of Hannah, an IT employee by day and a hacker by night. She has a mission and refuses to be stopped. That’s why she decides to get close to the FBI agent who’s on her case. So she can know if they’re close to finding out her hidden identity. What she hasn’t planned is falling for the said agent : Mason.

Books I recommend but never reviewed – #1 : Enemies to lovers

Books I recommend but never reviewed : enemies to lovers books - laylareads

Hello dear and amazing readers ! 🙂

I keep chatting about books everywhere lately and absolutely loving it. Be it on Instagram or Goodreads (by the way, if you feel like it, join me there for endless discussions and mutual recommendations of books).

While doing so, I kept thinking of how many books I absolutely loved and kept recommending but never properly reviewed, be it here or on Goodreads.

So I thought to gather them by theme in blog posts. I’m thinking of making them into a series : Books I recommend but never reviewed, that I’ll post every week, on Mondays (Gosh, I hope I will really commit to this and not say it but do nothing).

What I’ll be writing are not full and detailed reviews, but more like mini-reviews (at least, I’ll try to make them short). So I’ll put the GR links to the books so you can check the detailed summary.

Please tell me if the format is okay or if you have any suggestions on how I can make it enjoyable for you. Also tell me if those kind of posts would interest you 🙂

So here’s my Top 5 of the enemies-to-lovers trope :

#1

The Hating Game – Sally Thorne
♥♥♥♥♥

This is one of my favorite romantic comedy in the world! If anyone asks me for a good book in the enemies-to-lovers or office-romance category, this is the first one that comes to my mind. Joshua and Lucy work in the same office, right across from each other and play all kinds of games which has the same goal : making clear how much they hate the other.

Lucy is this really short, people-pleaser, vintage lover woman. Joshua is this really serious, intimidating, and awfully handsome man. But hating someone so Read More

The Goal – Elle Kennedy (Off-Campus series #4)

Genre : Sports romance, New Adult, Contemporary romance

Book 1 | Book 2 | Book 3 | Book 4
♥♥♥

When I started this series it was with no real expectations. I loved The Deal , liked The Mistake , absolutely LOVED The Score and as excited as I was about The Goal , I didn’t think I would read something better than Dean’s book from that series. But God…Tucker

♥ General impression

From the other books we have a certain image of him, the caring one, the mature one, the sensible one… but the stars of the hockey team took too much of the focus in the previous books for me to have really noticed him. I’m so happy Tucker got his book because it was amazing and it is definitely my favorite.
