My review :
« The Deal » or the most endearing book from the « University romance » genre ! Book one from the Off-campus serie is according to me the perfect illustration of the expression « feeling in love while reading ».
I have to admit that at the 5 first pages I was doubtful. We learned outright about the traumatic event that scarred our female character and I immediately thought there would be a lot of unnecessary drama. Then, the hero appears and I thought of the cliché of the good-looking football captain who’s full of himself. Well, guess what ? It was that…but so much more !!! (Fisrt, because he was a hockey captain and not a football one…yeah, that’s definitely not the same thing…duh.)
Garrett is confident (a little too much sometimes) but so funny and endearing. Hannah is strong, humble and smart. They’re both talented and determined. Elle Kennedy created characters with such depth and realism that I never wanted the story to end. The remarkable thing the author did in writing this book I think is : taking a « deja-vu » scenario and turning it into something entirely unique. Read More
My review :
Hello everyone ! If you’ve read my about me page, you know that I have to rewrite all my reviews following a technical problem. It’s quite tricky as it’s been a while since I’ve read most of the books. If you’ve spent some time on the blog, you also might have noticed that I tend to review books that I loved. It doesn’t mean that I’ve loved all my reads but I don’t see the point in detailing why I hated/disliked a book. Well,it depends. Sometimes I need to vent haha. Anyways, all of this to let you know that all my ratings (good and bad) are available on my Goodreads profile.
Let’s get back to Smut by Karina Halle. I’ve liked every previous book I read by her but this one is my favorite!
What attracted me to this book :
- The topic of writing
- The ennemis to lovers story is one of my favorite genre in Romance
– Whitney G.
Okay, so I’m a sucker for ‘best-friends turn to lovers’ stories but I must admit… I’ve never, ever read anything as good as this. I’m not talking about the writing style (it was really great) but that’s not what made that story special. It was the storyline, the perfection of each one of the characters, the cuteness, the depth, the realism of each and every moment…I literally just put down that book, and I’m still overwhelmed.
I know I shouldn’t write my thoughts about this book at this very minute because it’s still so fresh, I’m not being really objective but I will act against my best thoughts and do it anyway because a book that made me feel so much deserves a heartfelt review…
Carter and Arizona have been best friend since fourth grade, nope, fifth grade… Anyway, you’ll get the answer in the story. They’ve never crossed the line despite what everyone else think. Until one particular night. Read More
The Allure of Julian Lefray
– R.S. Grey
My review :
I really liked R.S. Grey’s writing style in her previous book « The Design » as well as her funny characters. I remember laughing so much while reading Cammie’s thoughts. But now ! Now, I must admit she surprised me with this book, it was a totally whole new level of hilarious, sweet and cute !
Joséphine, aka « Jo » Keller is so damn funny ! She is real, authentic and represents ordinary people so well we can identify (Well, I meant very stunning ordinary people who has the chance to work with a very good-looking man, but still…).
She works hard to achieve her goals like anybody else, she lacks self-confidence like anybody else, her situation and her debts are real too ! Her phone calls and emails with her best friend Lily who stayed in Texas are ones any ordinary girl has with her own best friend and I loved the closeness it gives us with her character.
Some quotes of Joséphine that made me laugh : Read More
