Books I recommend but never reviewed – #2 : Steamy Coffee Collection series – Whitney G.

Books I recommend but never reviewed - laylareads

Hello dear and amazing readers ! 🙂

So, a week has already passed and it’s time for another post in the Books I recommend but never reviewed series.

Today, I’ll talk about a series of novella by an author I like a lot : Whitney G., but I don’t know why I never review her books. I’m too overwhelmed right after, I think. The only one I reviewed is Sincerely, Carter, which as you can see, I loved! This author is definitely on my auto-buy list.

The weird thing is I’m not generally a big fan of novellas. I prefer long and detailed books where I can enjoy the characters and story for longer. But when I saw she was writing this, I had to try because I’m a fan of her writing. And let me tell you, those 3 books are hot, sweet and dirty and perfect if you need a light and enjoyable read before going back to a heavy one. Also, if you like office-romances. Well, they all are!

Book #1

Naughty Boss – Whitney G.

Like for all those novellas, I wish they were made into super long books. That’s how much I loved them. Naughty Boss tells the story of  Mya, a pretty, efficient and hard-working assistant who works for an a**hole boss, Michael, that asks outrageous things from her. She tries to bear it and when she needs to vent she sends awful emails about him to her best friend. The problem is that she accidentally ends up sending him one. And let’s just say that if her life was hell before, it was worse after he read it. Michael is your typical alpha male : handsome and arrogant. Those two characters were great and I loved that Mya gave as good as she got in attitude. I highly recommend this read and I’m leaving you with the blurb that you absolutely need to read (yes, I’m afraid you won’t click on the link and miss that!) :

He definitely wasn’t supposed to get that email…

Subject: My Boss.

Have I already told you that I hate my boss today?

Sexy as hell or not, this pompous, arrogant, ASSHOLE asked me to pick up his dry cleaning the second I walked through the door. Then he told me that I needed to take his Jaguar to a car wash that was ten miles outside of the city, but only after I needed to stand in a never-ending line to buy some type of limited, hundred-dollar watch.

I honestly can’t wait to see the look on his face two months from now when I tell him that I’m quitting his company and that he can kiss my ass. KISS. MY. ASS.

All those former fantasies about him kissing me with his “mouth of perfection” or bending me over my desk and filling me with his cock are long over. OVER.

Your bestie,
Mya

PS–Please tell me your day is going better than mine…

Subject: Re: My Boss.

No, you haven’t already told me that you hate your boss today, but seeing as though you’ve sent me this email directly, I know now…

Yes, I did ask you to pick up my dry cleaning the second you arrived to work to day. (Where is it?) And I did tell you to take my Jaguar to the car wash and pick up my thousand-dollar watch. (Thank you for taking five hours to do something that could be accomplished in two.)

You don’t have to wait two months from now to see the look on my face when you tell me you’re quitting. I’m standing outside your office at this very moment. ( Open the door. )

No comment on your “fantasies,” although I highly doubt they’re “long over.”

Your boss,
Michael

PS–Yes. My day is definitely going far better than yours…

Book #2

Dirty Doctor – Whitney G.

Dirty Doctor, like the previous novella in the series, was super good and satisfying. Garrett and Natalie meet online and become friends. When they finally decide to go out, Garrett is excited and thought Natalie was too. Until she stood him up. Later, he founds out she’s the new doctor at his practice and that’s when it becomes interesting because he won’t let her forget all the dirty messages she sent him. Garrett and Natalie were amazing characters. I loved their banter, Garrett‘s sarcasm and demanding attitude and Natalie‘s wittiness. It was also really hot and well…dirty.

Book #3

 Cocky client – Whitney G.

Ryan is an arrogant billionaire with whom it is so hard to work with that no PR companies wants to represent him anymore. Penelope is struggling to bring clients to her PR company as her ex is stealing them all away and she’s having a really hard time. To try and spice up her life as well as temporarily forget about her problems, she gave in to the idea of a one night stand. What she didn’t expect was that he happened to be her mysterious client…

So while the previous two novellas were so good, this one is THE BEST of the series for me! Badass heroine, sexy af hero, mind-blowing chemistry! You have it all. And once again, I’m leaving you with the blurb :

Today is officially the worst day of my life…

I woke up five hours late after a reckless one-night stand with the sexiest, cockiest, and most arrogant man I’ve ever met. (And this asshole actually left a note: “I think you were lying to me about being “experienced” last night. You orgasmed three times, and that was before we made it to your bedroom. I also find it hard to believe you “usually wear silk or lingerie.” Your drawers are all full of cotton granny panties–The best man you’ve ever fucked… )

My top two PR clients left me for my number one competitor, my roommate accidentally bleached my best suit, and my favorite coffee shop was shut down for “health concerns.”

Still, none of those things dimmed my excitement for what was supposed to be the best four o’clock signing session of my career. I was on the verge of signing the highest paying client in my company’s history, taking on a so-called “impossible” job that no publicist had been able to handle.

But at four o’clock, there was no athlete, television personality, or celebrity who showed up. Instead, that sexy, arrogant one-night stand stepped into my office with his familiar panty-wetting smirk and introduced himself as my new, cocky client…

Have you read this series ? What are your favorites by Whitney G. ?

Spread the love 🙂
